I don't think I've ever even sat in a car this new… And now I have one…
As I told you in an earlier post, my old Peugeot was fully paid off, so naturally it was time to get a new one. I though about getting a Seat Leon, but a beautiful day my mechanic of choice recommended I'd take a look at a Kia Cee'd. “Bloody h*ll”, I thought to myself. “Cheap Korean crap”, I continued. I trust my mechanic enough to go check it out anyway, so I made a my local dealership a visit.
My fuel of choice is diesel, and Kia Cee'd sports two models of diesel engines to their cars, a 1.6 litre and a 2.0 litre. As my Peugeot was a two-litre turbodiesel I asked to see a two-litre Kia. “Nope”, the salesman stated, “…I only have the 1.6 here right now, but you can take it for a spin”. With the keys in hand, walking to my chariot I was expecting [A] a cheap hump of crap with [B] a lazy engine. I sat down and rubbed my eyes. I looked, and felt like a quality build! I started her up, and as soon as I got out on the highway and floored the gaspedal I was a believer! Warp factor 3, it felt like. This was way quicker than my 2-litre Peugeot.
The following week I visited the same dealership again, and made some paperwork. I had bought a new car. A new New car. Adult-points for me! Fast forward about two months and…
…here she is! Ain't she a beauty? She drives like a dream too.
She'd better, concidering I'm in debt for a handful of years to come because of her. Well, you know – love at first sight – that can be bloody expensive…
Look´s great, can´t wait to take it for a test run. Congratulations! :-)
OK, update having now driven the thing for a few hundred kilometers.
I'M LOVING IT!
I will never buy another car without the following features: Automatic A/C and Cruise Control! I'm also enjoying the AUX-input, which means I can connect my iPod directly to the cars' audio system without fumbling with a clunky FM Transmitter.
All in all, a great experience…
